On Tuesday 6 October, Byron teamed up with the charity One Feeds Two in a bid to provide school meals for children living in some of the poorest communities in the world.
Like bees to honey, countless students across the country pounced at the opportunity to bite down on the 25p burger that came hand in hand with Byron’s partnership.
Of course, neither my housemate or I were going to pass up this opportunity either, and like 40,000 others (the estimated amount of burgers sold that day) we patiently waited an excess of 2 hours for our meal.
And boy, was it worth it.
Besides the tender burger patty was some streaky bacon, spicy jalapeños and a crispy onion ring. Stuffed full of all these tasty things, it was well worth the wait.
Brownies are always a plus, but add caramel and vanilla ice-cream and you’re on to a winner.
It’s great to see such a large chain team up with a charity to pull something like this to get as many people involved in such an important project. After totalling up the number of burgers sold, Byron also announced on Wednesday that they were set to double the amount of school dinners already donated.
That’s a total of 80,000 school dinners, nice one Byron et al.
