Smoothie Bowl: Berry Blast

I’ve always been a smoothie bowl skeptic. They’re all over Instagram as the latest breakfast health kick, and I just don’t buy that side of the story.

All that sugar, every day, from all that fruit, cannot be doing great things for your teeth.

BUT, as I just realised, if you ignore all that healthy eating jargon, the reason why people are actually obsessed with smoothie bowls is because THEY’RE FREAKIN’ DELICIOUS.

I made my first ever bowl with frozen berries and, between you and me, I have no regrets for coming over the the ‘dark side’.

What you’ll need:

A blender (mine was on sale at Sainsbury’s *insert smug face*)
A handful of frozen raspberries
A handful of frozen blueberries
5 tablespoons of mango and passionfruit low fat yoghurt
1 scoop of strawberry protein powder
Splash of milk, too thin it out
A handful of grapes
Some dried fruit, I had strawberries

What to do:

1. Literally chuck everything into the blender
2. Blend until smooth
3. Transfer to a bowl
4. Decorate with fresh fruit
5. Slurp up that chilly, fruity goodness

Frozen fruit is a lot cheaper than buying fresh, and you get a lot more of it.Β It also means that you’re smoothie will be nice and chilled as soon as you’re done.

Of course, if you wanted to use fresh fruit then you could always chuck in some ice cubes to get the same effect.
