Now that you’re done appreciating my really, really witty title, check out the lavender and apple crumble that I made last week:
50p Häägen Daz on there, got to love redeeming Sainsbury’s nectar points. What I don’t love though is how warm/yellow the lighting is and how out of focus these photos are … but let’s not talk about that, let’s talk about how you’d go about making these.
What you’ll need
For the filling:
400g of apples, peeled, cored and chopped into manageable chunks
50g of brown sugar
1 tbsp of plain flour
1 pinch of cinnamon
For the topping:
300g of plain flour
100g of brown sugar
75g of lavender infused sugar
200g of butter, cubed
1 pinch of salt
How to make it:
Preheat oven to 180c
Mix flour, sugar and cubed butter in a large bowl
Rub mixture together until it resembles breadcrumbs
In a separate bowl add apples, sugar, flour and cinnamon and mix
In an ovenproof dish distribute fruit mixture evenly
Sprinkle topping over
Bake in the oven for 30/40 mins or until topping begins to brown/fruit bubbles
Serve with ice-cream*
*Not clotted cream because that would make you a filthy animal… although, admittedly, there’s nothing actually wrong with clotted cream, but if you’re going to go for vanilla ice-cream it’s got to be Mackie’s/discounted Häägen Daz.
